Run by the community for the community

This is a major extension to the facilities at SiD completed June 2011 and provides a full size scout hall and separate meeting room, toilets and stores for equipment. The various scouting sections have priority use of these facilities, but they can be hired out at other times by local community groups.

Gym extension

As a part of the scout development the gym extends by 40% to accommodate more new equipment and to provide a better service for our members.

This facility, established in summer 2011 is located in the extended foyer and is available to all within the borough to meet with council officials by appointment.

Both the green and the surrounds have been enhanced significantly in 2010/2011 through grant aid and a lot of hard work from the members.

Due to the efforts of eight young people securing a grant of £19,787 from Leicestershire Youth Bank both the existing courts were resurfaced in 2010 and repainted in 2011 to bring them up to the highest standards. Further grants and loans are being sought to build a third tennis court adjacent to the existing courts.
